About the Role:
The Human Resource Payroll and Benefit Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll and administration of employee benefits within a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, as well as company policies, to safeguard both the organization and its employees. The specialist will collaborate closely with HR, finance, and management teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and optimize benefits offerings that support employee satisfaction and retention. By managing sensitive employee data with confidentiality and precision, this role contributes to a positive workplace culture and operational efficiency. Ultimately, the specialist ensures that all payroll and benefits processes are executed flawlessly, supporting the overall success of the manufacturing business and its workforce.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in payroll, benefits administration, or related HR roles.
- Hands-on experience with ADP payroll systems required, ADP Workforce Now strongly
- preferred.
- Experience processing payroll for hourly/non-exempt and multi-shift workforces.
- Experience administering health benefits, 401(k) plans, COBRA, and related compliance
- reporting.
- Familiarity with HRIS/ERP systems and maintaining accurate digital records.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, etc.).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively across cross-functional and multicultural teams.
- Manufacturing environment experience is a plus.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly payroll using ADP systems, ensuring accurate and timely payment of regular wages, overtime, bonuses, adjustments, and hourly/multi-shift employee compensation.
- Verify timecards, attendance data, PTO balances, and shift differentials for multiple employee groups
- Maintain employee payroll and benefits records in HRIS/ERP systems.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state wage/tax regulations (IRS, DOL, Texas Workforce Commission).
- Coordinate and administer employee benefits, including health insurance enrollment,
- 401(k) changes, COBRA processing, and required reporting.
- Serve as the primary contact for employee payroll and benefits questions, providing timely support.
- Prepare payroll reports for Finance and HR leadership, including labor cost summaries and audit documentation.
- Reconcile payroll registers, tax withholdings, and benefit deductions; troubleshoot discrepancies.
- Support onboarding (I-9, new-hire setup, benefits introduction) and offboarding processes.
- Assist with Workers’ Compensation, unemployment claims, and required reporting.
- Collaborate with HR Manager on process improvements to ensure efficiency and compliance.
