Health Care Compliance Officer RN (Inpatient Behavior Health Facilities) Job Location: 150 North 18th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85007 Salary: $57,750 Grade: 20 Job Summary Performs work within the Division of Public Health Licensing Services, Bureau of Medical Facilities Licensing. Assists or determines issuing of licenses to facilities and providers, maintains current licenses ensuring compliance. Conducts initial and annual inspections of health care institutions to verify compliance with regulations. Reviews quality systems through documentation and corrective actions. Investigates complaints and unlicensed facilities. Corresponds with regulated community, regulatory bodies, responds to technical questions, develops standards, participates in rulemaking, and conducts inspections. Reviews investigative reports, statements of deficiencies, and correspondence regarding license status or legal orders. Job Duties Interpret statutes, rules, and internal procedures; conduct inspections/investigations to determine compliance; prepare investigation reports. Attend staff, advisory committee, and stakeholder meetings. Provide technical assistance to current or potential providers; interact with department offices. Perform miscellaneous services as assigned (5–10%). Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs) Knowledge of: Arizona Administrative Code and Arizona Revised Statutes related to licensed facilities and providers. Facility management and operational concepts. Specialized procedures. Performance Management, Continuous Quality Improvement, and Lean methodologies. Skill in: Reviewing, reading, and interpreting professional literature and regulations. Oral and written communication, analytical review, interpersonal relationships, active listening, organization, evaluation, repetition, education/training. Ability to: Change priorities as issues arise; problem solve (root cause). Work independently. Perform reviews and analyze data, reporting, and evaluation of compliance. Selective Preference(s) Preference will be given to candidates with a professional license in Arizona or proof of reciprocity of an out‑of‑state license (Registered Nurse, Social Worker, Dietitian, Counselor, etc.). Pre-Employment Requirements Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel statewide. Must have a valid Level 1 fingerprint clearance card per A.R.S. 41‑1758.07 or apply within 7 working days after start. Associate’s degree with experience in a licensed or regulated setting, or experience with a regulatory agency.
