Corporate Controller

Position Overview We are looking for a Corporate Controller to join our team. The base salary range for this position is $96,100 to $120,100 based on skills and experience, with monthly incentive. This position is classified as On‑site. About the Role The Corporate Controller is responsible for ensuring legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting reporting functions, overseeing the Accounting Department, financial statement preparation and regulatory reporting. The role provides cost‑effective financial services for our members and partners with responsibility for ensuring reports, accounts, systems, policies and practices adhere to GAAP. Primary Function The Corporate Controller will work closely with the CFO and accounting staff to collaborate, mentor, and evaluate team members while keeping alignment with OnPath’s mission and core values. The Controller will conduct daily business interactions, promote compliance, and demonstrate initiative and sound judgment to support credit union goals. Major Duties & Responsibilities Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls with emphasis on detail and process improvements. Oversee the activities of accounting staff to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports, including internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits. Oversee disbursement activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and employee expense reports. Assist the CFO in training, mentoring, evaluating staff and managing performance and core competencies within the department. Ensure accurate and timely filing of the quarterly Call Report and month‑end close process. Assist with regulatory exams and audit requests. Maintain accurate records of all credit union assets, liabilities, income, and expenses. Manage department projects and participate in special meetings and projects as assigned. Provide leadership through objective setting, effective delegation, and open communication, holding meetings to inform staff of policy, procedural and legal updates. Develop and implement training programs, conduct training sessions and facilitate cross‑training where appropriate. Administer time‑sheet management and conduct performance appraisals and corrective actions when required. Knowledge & Skills Five to ten years of experience in accounting/finance with at least two years of supervisory experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required; MBA, CPA preferred. Strong understanding of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, banking, and regulatory reporting. Exceptional analytical, decision‑making, time‑management and communication skills. High emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, effective delegation, and mentoring abilities.
