Restaurant General Manager Potbelly Sandwich Works Location: Field, in Shop Reports to: District Manager Job Type: Full‑Time, Exempt Job Summary The General Manager leads a Potbelly shop, driving positive energy, team inspiration, and excellent customer service while managing operations, sales, and profitability. Key Responsibilities Recruit, hire, train, and develop staff, ensuring alignment with Potbelly values. Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and effectively resolve complaints. Develop and execute sales and marketing plans to meet budgeted sales goals. Control costs, manage labor scheduling, and maintain inventory and cash‑handling procedures. Implement food safety and health regulations, ensuring compliance with certification requirements. Lead financial reporting and budgeting, improving profitability and operational efficiency. Engage with the local community to build brand awareness. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of general manager experience in a restaurant or retail setting with P&L responsibility. High school diploma; bachelor’s degree preferred. Strong business acumen, communication, and leadership skills. Food safety certification (ServSafe or equivalent). Must pass certification within two attempts. Availability to spend 80‑90% of time on the shop floor. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic financial literacy.
