GE Vernova Fluid Systems Engineer

Job Summary Fluid Systems Design Engineer utilizes engineering principles to design systems that enable the operation of our Aeroderivative gas turbine. This includes hydraulic start, ventilation and combustion air, turbine lube oil, gas fuel, liquid fuel, generator lube oil, and other systems. The role involves selecting and sizing pumps, valves, heat exchangers, ventilation systems, determining piping system requirements, and specifying control limits to ensure proper and reliable operation. Responsibilities Lead fluid system design reviews and coordinate necessary milestones and action items to closure. Develop component specifications as needed and coordinate the interface requirements to the mechanical design, electrical design, and controls teams. Support business critical programs like Product Cost Out (PCO) and Reliability, Accessibility and Maintainability (RAM). Utilize fluid system expertise to support the overall Aero internal and external customers, including Aero Services, Manufacturing, CM&U, Applications/Sales, and Project Management. Conduct component and product integration spanning multiple components and products to optimize performance and operability; manage product and systems requirements, specifications, flow‑downs; drive validation and verification activities, system level testing; define product requirements for modules, components, subcontractors, and partner teams; manage interfaces between components and execution organizations; manage CTQ/Risk trades and overall product configuration and configuration control system. Develop conceptual knowledge of professional discipline, including specialized expertise and broad area technical knowledge. Apply general business knowledge developed through education or past experience, understanding how work contributes to the area. Resolve issues using established procedures, consulting supervisors or senior team members for issues outside defined parameters. Collaborate with others to solve issues; for customer‑facing roles, develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between customer and GE, exchanging technical information and ensuring understanding. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline. 0–1 year of engineering experience. Eligibility Requirements The required work location is Houston, TX (relocation assistance available). Desired Characteristics Recent university graduate with past internship experience. Experience with AutoCAD. Experience with Unigraphics NX. Strong oral and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems; ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs; established project management skills. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $72,000 – $108,000. Geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary may apply in certain areas. Bonus eligibility: 5% discretionary annual bonus.
