About the Role
The Company is in search of an Associate General Counsel with a focus on litigation and payor relations. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team, dedicated to making a difference in people's lives. This role is pivotal in providing legal support for pre-litigation and litigation matters, particularly those involving healthcare payors. The Associate General Counsel will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and pursuing claims related to reimbursement, claim denials, and other payor-related issues. Collaboration with internal stakeholders and outside counsel is essential, as is the ability to support the organization in various litigation and dispute resolution matters to safeguard and advance the company's legal and business interests. Applicants must have a J.D. degree from an accredited institution, be admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and have a minimum of 5 years' of experience in healthcare law, with a preference for those with a background in payor litigation. The role requires a proven ability to manage legal matters with minimal oversight, and experience in a law firm setting is a plus. The Associate General Counsel will also be involved in negotiating and drafting contracts, maintaining knowledge of relevant laws, and contributing to the development of company policies and procedures. Strong communication skills are necessary, as the position involves making presentations and conducting teaching sessions on legal issues. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a team player, and a leader in their area of legal expertise.
