About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: MO or Compact License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Required Must-Have: - Critical care experience; ICU or ED background or procedural background required - Ability to work independently - No visible tattoos; facial piercings must be removed or covered - EKG exam passing required Description: All adult interventional radiology procedures are performed. The role involves body, vascular, and neuro procedures. Procedures are scheduled Monday through Friday. Ability to work every 5th or 6th Saturday is needed. Average daily census is 8 patients per nurse. The nurse may have to work past scheduled hours if procedures are still ongoing. Background in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias is essential. Examples of procedures include inserting central lines, performing CT-guided procedures, and bone biopsies. Administration of procedural sedation commonly using medications such as Fentanyl and Versed is required. Daily tasks include pre-procedure phone calls and post-procedure care. The facility serves inpatient and outpatient populations. This is a high-level trauma center and a comprehensive stroke center. Special support teams include respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The patient demographic includes adults with a wide range of diagnoses and procedures. The role involves monitoring patients during sedation and procedures.
