EIC Controls Technician

Perform major maintenance functions and complex installations and repairs within the EIC trade specialty Troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment and system issues involving electrical, instrumentation, and control systems Select work methods independently and recommend process and equipment improvements Plan and coordinate contract or maintenance crews Train and mentor less experienced technicians Lead or support installation, testing, and commissioning of compressor station equipment and pipeline facilities Maintain, calibrate, and repair control system components, safety devices, and instrumentation Document maintenance, inspections, and compliance work Adhere to company and regulatory safety standards, including hazard identification and PPE use Participate in emergency repairs and support customer/client needs Support environmental, community, and safety initiatives Requirements Journeyman ticket in a relevant trade, where applicable, or two years of vocational/technical training from a recognized institution with at least five years of related experience Fully qualified and, where required, certified tradesperson Ability to meet and maintain company-defined operator qualifications and technical tasks Valid driver’s license and ability to provide a driver’s abstract Successful completion of pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing Willingness to travel for temporary assignments, meetings, or training up to 15% of the work schedule Participation in on-call rotation and emergency support as required Legal authorization to work in the country where the position is based, without restrictions Background screening, which may include criminal and/or credit checks Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in troubleshooting and resolving complex electrical, instrumentation, and control system issues while adhering to safety standards. Capable of leading maintenance teams, training technicians, and implementing process improvements in compliance with regulatory requirements.
