Job Summary

Rockaway RX, an independent community pharmacy that has served Brooklyn for more than 60 years, is seeking a licensed Supervising Pharmacist / Pharmacist-in-Charge .

This is a full-time weekday position with a consistent Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule , no vaccination duties, and support from an experienced technician team that has worked at the location for more than five years.

The ideal candidate has retail/community pharmacy experience and an active New York State Pharmacist license. Prior experience as a Supervising Pharmacist or PIC is preferred, but we are also open to an experienced retail pharmacist who is ready to step into a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the pharmacy’s Supervising Pharmacist / Pharmacist-in-Charge
• Oversee daily pharmacy operations and workflow
• Verify and dispense prescriptions accurately
• Counsel patients regarding prescription medications
• Supervise experienced pharmacy technicians and support staff
• Ensure proper prescription processing, documentation, and recordkeeping
• Maintain compliance with applicable federal, New York State, and pharmacy regulations
• Support inventory management, medication ordering, and stock control
• Coordinate with wholesalers including Kinray/Cardinal Health and Anda
• Use PrimeRx for prescription processing, refills, patient profiles, insurance adjudication, and pharmacy workflow
• Provide professional and courteous patient service

Requirements

• Active New York State Pharmacist license in good standing
• Retail or community pharmacy experience
• Strong prescription verification and dispensing skills
• Knowledge of applicable pharmacy compliance, documentation, and recordkeeping requirements
• Ability to supervise technicians and independently manage daily pharmacy workflow
• Reliable, professional, and detail-oriented

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Supervising Pharmacist, Pharmacist-in-Charge, Pharmacy Manager, or Lead Pharmacist
• PrimeRx experience preferred; candidates experienced with comparable retail pharmacy systems will also be considered
• Familiarity with Kinray/Cardinal Health and Anda
• Experience with pharmacy inventory management and medication ordering

Schedule

• Monday–Friday
• 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
• No evening shifts
• No vaccination duties
• No Sundays
• Rare Saturday coverage may be requested when needed

Compensation

$65–$70 per hour, based on experience

License/Certification

• New York State Pharmacist License — Required
