Custodial Specialist III

Position Summary The Custodial Specialist III will maintain facilities in a safe operating condition, ensure assignments are completed timely and safely, and direct assigned workers as necessary. Responsibilities include cleaning corporate and school facilities on schedule and managing custodial staff to meet shift requirements. Essential Functions Arrange furnishings and equipment for meetings, classroom activities, and events. Clean all corporate and school facilities as scheduled to provide a sanitary, safe and attractive environment. Lead: Direct custodians to maximize staff efficiency and meet shift requirements. Provide assistance and on‑the‑job training. Report employee issues to supervisor as they arise and document them. Respond to requests with a sense of urgency. Report maintenance needs promptly. Review and inspect all areas in charge for work quality, accuracy and completeness. Keep supervisor appraised of equipment needs to allow staff to complete jobs efficiently. Fill in when there is a shortage of staff. Work collaboratively with supervisor, coworkers, assigned staff, and customers. Perform other duties as assigned. Conducts themselves in a manner that reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment. Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader. Education High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience Three years of custodial work Licensure / Certification Washington State Driver’s License Software / Equipment Knowledge Knowledge of housekeeping practices, techniques and procedures including carpet and hard floor care. Use of cleaning chemicals and adherence to safety procedures. Ability to use computerized programs (Agresso Administrator) to process PMs and generate and close work orders. Ability to operate electric buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors and professional steamers. Other Considerations Ability to pass background checks related to DSHS Secretary’s List of Crimes and Negative Actions. Working hours may vary and may require occasional overtime or unusual hours for emergency needs. Maintain a high level of personal appearance consistent with CRISTA standards. Demonstrate dependability and punctuality, ensuring timely arrival at work. Read and write in English, understand rules and procedures outlined in the employee’s handbook, and follow directions provided verbally or in writing. Complete assigned tasks in an orderly and timely manner, meeting the “Standard of Clean” by following the schedule set for each area. Follow safety procedures to ensure the safety of self and others; this is mandatory. Preferred Qualifications Expertise in carpet cleaning and hard floor care.
