Dedicated Logistics Manager

The Dedicated Logistics Manager has ownership of the dedicated account’s profitability through day‑to‑day operations, which include driver management, load planning, and all customer service functions needed to ensure customer satisfaction. The operational functions also involve supervision of personnel, revenue generation, billing, safety, equipment maintenance monitoring, and driver payroll. The role coordinates and enforces standards and procedures that promote safe work practices and meet key performance indicators (KPIs) established by Werner Enterprises and our customers. Overall account management focuses on profitability, revenue generation, invoicing, personnel management, driver turnover, fleet sizing, load planning, and direct/on‑site customer interaction. Responsibilities Handle overall account management of profitability, revenue, invoicing, personnel, driver turnover, fleet sizing, load planning and direct/on‑site customer interaction. Supervise daily office personnel (0–10 employees) and drivers (1–200). Continuously focus on driver training and retention. Ensure account profitability and growth. Maximize asset utility while reducing idle time and improving miles‑per‑gallon (MPG) strategies. Assign drivers to loads by optimizing load information—origination, destination, freight type, miles, backhauls, stops, directions—while considering driver needs and availability. Utilize operating systems, driver telematics, face‑to‑face, and phone/text communication. Demonstrate a commitment to safety and enforce compliance with Federal, State, and internal regulations through Werner’s corporate safety department. Promote a safety culture by evaluating safety performance to eliminate costs related to lost production, higher insurance premiums, and medical/legal expenditures. Promote innovation and understand hazards and risks in operations, and use appropriate resources and processes to minimize health and safety risks. Ensure processes for receiving and addressing information about incidents, hazards, and risks, and respond promptly. Implement processes for complying with specific duties, obligations, and regulations. Review and audit weekly invoicing for accuracy. Maintain positive, professional relationships with drivers, internal associates, and customers. Interface with departments such as billing, vans, customer service, risk, safety, payroll, fuel, maintenance, and external vendors. Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures while making safety‑conscious decisions. Monitor performance metrics and participate in customer meetings. Coordinate maintenance for assets and equipment of the account. Handle HR functions including interviewing, hiring, discipline, and separations. Complete required account reporting for internal and external customers. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (emphasis in Marketing, Management, or Transportation/Logistics) or equivalent education and experience. Two to three years of customer service experience preferred. Two to three years of transportation experience preferred. One to two years of AS400 and PC experience preferred.
