Design Engineer
Lassie
Lassie is building the AI for every health practice.
One million health practices spend $100B+ a year on admin staff, and still can't find enough people. Since COVID, offices are chronically short-staffed. Patients feel it every day in unanswered calls and confusing bills.
We believe the doctor's office of the future is run by AI. An agent that runs the business, handles the administration, and becomes the interface patients use to interact with their doctor's office.
Founded by Steijn Pelle (helped Robinhood and Coinbase grow to their first hundreds of millions in annual revenue) and Frédéric Renken (engineer turned first product hire at Superhuman), we're bringing consumer product DNA to healthcare and reimagining how a million doctors and 300 million patients interact with the doctor's office.
About the role
We're hiring a design-minded engineer to build the control plane for powerful agents handling billing and medical records. Real patients and real practices depend on these systems. You'll craft interfaces that make autonomous agents feel trustworthy and effortless to supervise.
We take a consumer approach to healthcare software: approachable, elegant, and sweating the details. The product spans onboarding, human-in-the-loop review, the tools practice owners use to understand their business, and more.
You will be a great fit if you…
- Strive for great, not good, and iterate until you get there
- Take pride in building software that feels fast and effortless
- Look for leverage: using tools, automation, and process to multiply your impact
- Have strong fundamentals in JavaScript and browser APIs
- Believe healthcare software should be as delightful as consumer products
Some things we've built
- A sync engine backed by encrypted SQLite in the browser, enabling 100ms experiences for healthcare payments and patient ledgers
- Systems that eliminate thousands of hours of paperwork every month
- Data pipelines processing $1B+ in insurance claims
Technology we use
We invest heavily in productivity. Engineers should have the best tools for the job and the freedom to choose them.
- TypeScript, React, Tailwind
- Python (Django, Pydantic AI), Postgres, Redis
- Google Cloud Platform, Vercel
- Linear, Slack, Notion
Joining us
To start, you'll have a handful of conversations with our founders and team. If there is mutual excitement, we'll invite you for an in-office work trial where you'll collaborate on real problems we're solving and meet the team.
