Staff Accountant

Senior Staff AccountantThe Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with accounting standards, and timely reporting to management.Essential ResponsibilitiesPrepare and post journal entries for month-end and year-end close.Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.Perform bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations.Analyze financial statements and investigate variances.Assist with financial reporting and preparation of supporting schedules.Support budgeting and forecasting activities.Prepare and review accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed asset schedules.Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.Assist with internal and external audits.Support process improvement initiatives and implementation of accounting best practices.Collaborate with operations, finance, payroll, and other departments on accounting-related matters.Mentor and assist junior accounting staff as needed.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.3-7+ years of progressive accounting experience.Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis.Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday, or similar.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
