Job Description

The Forklift Operator safely moves, loads, unloads, and organizes materials throughout the facility using a combination of standing and sitting forklifts, high-reach trucks, and RF scanning technology. This role supports production, inventory control, and shipping by accurately handling materials, preparing completed equipment and parts for shipment, and maintaining required records and documentation while upholding quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate standing and sitting forklifts to move materials for loading trailers and flatbeds, supplying and removing materials from the production area, and transferring items in and out of inventory.
• Use a high-reach truck to access and retrieve materials from high-level shelves in a safe and efficient manner.
• Utilize RF scanners and tracking systems to accurately locate, identify, and record materials and inventory movements.
• Work from manufacturing information, material lists, requisitions, and written or oral instructions to complete material handling tasks correctly and on time.
• Prepare completed equipment, accessories, and service parts for shipment, ensuring all components are properly loaded and secured.
• Load, unload, and move materials as required to support shipping, receiving, production, and inventory operations.
• Inspect materials and workmanship for quality, verifying conformance to standards and reporting any issues or discrepancies.
• Take responsibility for the quality of finished work, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established procedures.
• Maintain required records and documents related to material movement, inventory, and shipments using appropriate systems and tools.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of forklifts, material handling equipment, and personal protective equipment.

Essential Skills

• Experience operating a forklift or high-reach truck; experience with both is preferred.
• Ability to safely lift and move materials weighing 50 pounds or more.
• Experience using an RF scanner or similar equipment for tracking and inventory.
• Proficiency in basic material handling tasks such as picking, loading, unloading, and staging materials.
• Ability to follow manufacturing information, material lists, requisitions, and written or oral instructions accurately.
• Attention to detail to verify material quality and conformance to standards.
• Capability to maintain accurate records and documentation related to inventory and shipments.
• Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with stand-up forklifts and sit-down forklifts in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Familiarity with high-reach trucks for accessing materials stored on high shelves.
• Experience with pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.
• Prior work in inventory control or material handling within a manufacturing or distribution setting.
• Comfort working with moderate noise levels and using hearing protection as needed.

Work Environment

The role is based in a semi-climate-controlled manufacturing facility with a fairly clean environment and moderate noise levels. You will work on 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The position involves regular use of forklifts, high-reach trucks, RF scanners, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Team members must wear safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection, following all safety and facility guidelines while working on the floor.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, PA.

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Hanover,PA.
