Bring your expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to an impactful opportunity serving students across a dynamic school system in Georgia! A skilled professional is needed on-site for the current and upcoming school years, working directly with students to support their individualized educational needs.
This full-time contract role (at least 37.5 hours per week; part-time schedules may be considered) runs through May 21, 2027, with potential for some additional pre- or post-planning days. The specific caseload is flexible and will be matched to your strengths and experience following discussion with district leaders. The role places a strong focus on service documentation, requiring diligent daily record-keeping.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Georgia Educator Certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) required
- Previous experience teaching students with visual impairments in a K-12 school setting is highly valued
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with students, families, and educational teams
- Comfortable maintaining accurate and timely daily service logs as required
- Onsite presence required throughout the assignment period; remote/VOCO candidates will not be considered
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction designed for students with visual impairments, adapting strategies to maximize access and learning
- Develop and implement IEPs in alignment with school district guidelines and each child’s unique needs
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote student growth
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate service documentation
- Adapt to caseload assignment based on your age group preferences and experience, established through the interview process
