Director of Software Engineering, Acceleration

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal software engineering training or certification, along with 10+ years of hands-on experience.
• We need 5+ years of experience leading technologists and solving complex technical challenges within a specialized domain.
• We expect strong experience with CI/CD, including build and release automation, quality gates, and deployment approaches.
• We need expertise in testing frameworks and automation, including unit, integration, and contract testing, plus test strategy modernization.
• We require proficiency in Python or Java for production services, data applications, or automation tooling.
• We value UI development experience with modern web frameworks, component-based design systems, front-end testing, and performance tuning.
• We need experience in data modeling across conceptual, logical, and physical levels, with attention to analytics and operational use cases.
• We expect architectural knowledge of distributed systems, resiliency, performance, and maintainability.
• We require experience with integration and APIs, including REST and event-driven patterns, governance, versioning, and security.
• We need practical production experience with AWS services, including networking, compute, storage, security/IAM, and monitoring.
• We expect proven ability to align cross-functional stakeholders across product, business, risk/control, architecture, and platform teams.
• We value experience operating effectively in a governance model with senior stakeholders.

• We create complex, scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design approaches.
• We develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
• We architect and govern AI-enabled engineering workflows using enterprise-authorized tools to improve delivery speed, code quality, and operational outcomes.
• We apply knowledge of SDLC tooling, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation at scale.
• We set technical direction for architecture, integration patterns, API strategy, data modeling, and platform engineering while modernizing engineering practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, release readiness, observability, and production support procedures.
• We run pod governance through councils and standups to prioritize work, remove blockers, and drive go/no-go decisions in partnership with senior sponsors.
• We lead the full program lifecycle from intake through production rollout, including validation, pilot/POC execution, demos, and production hardening and approvals.
• We establish sprint-based delivery practices that improve transparency, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement.
• We build delivery guardrails that reduce common innovation risks such as silos, technical debt, weak user engagement, and adoption barriers.
• We institutionalize reuse of proven components and establish reference implementations that shorten delivery time and improve consistency across initiatives.
• We influence leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams.
