Role Description The Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Detroit Metropolitan Area, responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing and operational activities. This role manages production schedules, monitors performance metrics, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency. The Operations Manager collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, supply chain, and maintenance, to optimize processes and resolve operational issues. Responsibilities include leading and developing team members, implementing standardized work practices, managing budgets, and supporting strategic planning for capacity and resource utilization. The role also requires adherence to regulatory and customer requirements, maintaining a culture of safety and accountability on the production floor. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong operations management skills, including production planning, resource allocation, and performance monitoring. Candidates should possess experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and problem-solving methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma, root cause analysis). Candidates should possess leadership and people-management skills, including team coaching, conflict resolution, and performance development. Candidates should possess familiarity with quality management systems, safety standards, and automotive industry requirements. Candidates should possess solid analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Candidates should possess effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments and levels. Candidates should possess proficiency with ERP systems, production reporting tools, and basic Microsoft Office applications.
