Business Analyst

Business AnalystSpatial Front, Inc. (SFI), a two-time USA Today Top Workplaces awardee and Washington Top Workplaces honoree, is seeking a Business Analyst to join our team. The Business Analyst role is an integral team member who works with the various groups to support modernization efforts. For this role, the candidate will work directly with the customer and team members. They will translate product strategy and roadmap into well-defined user stories, features, and enablers that realize the product vision and improve the customer experience. This role will also perform Scrum Master duties, including meeting facilitation and engaging in biweekly testing of the completed user stories.Work Location: This position is hybrid. Candidates should reside in either the Austin, TX, or Washington, DC metro areas.Primary ResponsibilitiesAnalyze user needs to determine functional and cross-functional requirements throughout the standard development life cycleCollaborate with stakeholders and product teams to decompose large epic stories into features and user stories that can be understood and approved by members of the development teamDevelop strategic frameworks, providing a basic structure of program missions, vision, and goalsDocument stories and manage backlog in JiraProven experience writing detailed functional and technical requirementsProvide product management support such as prioritization and backlog groomingProvide analysis for associated tasks during the life cycleCoach the team to create better solutions, improve business results, and better their processesFacilitate team meetings, including Backlog Refinement / Iteration Planning / Daily Stand-Up / Iteration Review / Iteration RetrospectiveRemove impediments and barriers to the team's progressCommunicate and track agreed upon team metricsCommunicate and coordinate meetings, presentations, and develop work productsDevelop test casesEnsure requirements are tested and provide expected functionalityExcellent communications skillsOther activities shall include: Project planningScope managementChange managementIssues managementRisk managementQuality managementProblem solving and conflict-resolution.Specialized experience includes: Project development from inception to deploymentDemonstrated capability in managing multi-task contracts and/or Sub-contracts of various types and complexityRequirementsEducation/Experience:Minimum of a bachelor's degree in related fieldMinimum 2-5 years of experience is requiredAbility to pass a US Public Trust background investigation for access to the client site and computing systemsMust have experience working with Agile/ScrumMust have experience with JiraStrong work ethic, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailExcellent communication skillsAdditional Information:In order to meet the clearance requirements for this opportunity, candidates must be a US Citizen.Ability to pass a US Public Trust background investigation for access to the client site and computing systems.
