Tech - Echo/Ultrasound/Sonographer

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Ultrasound/Ultrasound Sonographer performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations, provides technical assistance to Radiologists, and ensures proper maintenance of ultrasound equipment. The role requires precise image capturing and efficient patient workflow management.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and position patients for ultrasound examinations following departmental protocols.
Operate, calibrate, and maintain ultrasound equipment, adhering to safety standards.
Capture high-quality images and save them to PACS for radiologist review.
Assist in training and mentoring new ultrasound personnel.
Manage scheduling, answer inquiries, and coordinate patient transportation as needed.
Ensure all ultrasound supplies are stocked and equipment is properly cleaned.

Qualifications:

Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
Minimum of 2 years' experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with administrative procedures.
Demonstrate strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
Possess an Associate's Degree in Diagnostic Medical Technology or equivalent, with successful completion of an accredited sonography program.
