Lead Pastor - Berean Bible Church (Grand Island, NE) Berean Bible Church ( is seeking a full-time Lead Pastor to preach the Word of God and equip the saints for ministry. Overview The Lead Pastor will passionately shepherd the church, preaching the Word, leading worship, and providing spiritual oversight. The role includes primary responsibility for teaching, equipping, pastoral care, and vision development, while collaborating with the Elder Board. Primary Responsibilities Ministry of the Word and Prayer: Diligently study Scripture, deliver expository preaching, preach approximately 45 Sundays per year (subject to Elder Board approval), and provide Christ-centered teaching in other settings. Equipping and Leadership Development: Promote discipleship, mentor emerging leaders (elders, deacons, ministry leaders), encourage multiplication of ministry responsibilities, foster a culture of growth and service. Shepherding and Pastoral Care: Provide biblical counsel, refer when needed, visit sick or hospitalized individuals, maintain availability during the week, perform weddings and funerals as appropriate. Vision and Spiritual Oversight: Clarify and communicate biblical vision, lead by example, encourage evangelism and outreach, provide oversight of ministry direction while appropriately delegating administrative and facility responsibilities, participate in the Berean Fellowship of Churches. Personal Character and Example: Maintain a growing walk with the Lord, devote time to prayer and study, shepherd household well, cultivate a good reputation within the broader community. Administrative Participation: Participate in elder meetings and leadership planning, contribute to budgeting and reporting processes, encourage stewardship of facilities and resources, delegate operational responsibilities as appropriate. Benefits Compensation determined by the Elder Board. Recognized holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day. Vacation: Four Sundays and four weeks of vacation. Sick leave defined separately. Professional leave arranged with the Elders. Sabbatical every seven years. Qualifications Evangelical believer with personal faith in Jesus Christ. Baptized by immersion in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
