Account RepresentativeSmith is looking for an Account Representative to join our New York team. Once you join this team, you will become acquainted with our core values that define Smith. With a reputation of more than 40 years of excellence, Smith is leading the way in electronic component distribution. Our diverse portfolio of pieces can be found in consumer electronics, medical devices, solar, and aerospace and defense. Our 19 offices range from Silicon Valley, New York City, Munich, Shenzhen and Shanghai, with hubs in Amsterdam, Singapore and Hong Kong.Essential Job DutiesDevelop business opportunities through research and cold calling to sell semiconductors ranging from memory devices, peripherals, CPUs and ICs across global industries related to automotive, consumer electronics, medical and so much more.Utilize lead generation tools (such as CRM, Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, etc) to generate individual leads without territory restrictionsPrepare POs for the purchasing team for component sourcing at competitive pricing according to RFQsRevitalize dormant accounts by promoting excess inventory at special pricingMaintain relationships with customers to further business opportunities through the entire accountRemain in contact with the operations team to update customers regarding inspection processes and part statusesCompetenciesExperience within the semiconductor industry or related fields is highly preferredAbility to connect and build relationships through fully inside sales (via phone, email, etc)Committed to customer satisfaction, confidentiality and ability manage proprietary dataSelf-motivated with attention to detail to manage a self-made portfolio of customersEducationBachelors in international trade, business administration, marketing or a related field
