Inventory Specialist

Job Details 1st Shift – No Weekends. Salary: $17–22 per hour based on experience. Essential Job Duties Evaluate and review the company’s overall inventory management. Work with salvage automobile parts and interchanges. Work independently while staying on task to meet performance demands. Accurately identify vehicle make, model, and options. Decipher manufacturer option codes on vehicles and parts to accurately identify interchange of parts. Evaluate inventory levels for all salvage automobile inventory and determine proper product stocking. Communicate opportunities found within inventory. Research and investigate missing inventory. Correct errors found by corporate oversight. Evaluate inventory for accuracy. Assume other duties as assigned. Collaborate with management and the dismantle team to make process adjustments as directed. Endure outdoor environments through the majority of the shift (extreme hot or cold, rain, snow). Be fluent in or learning to use technology (smartphone, tablet, computer). Supervisory Responsibilities Not responsible for supervising employees. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or GED. 1+ year of related experience. Past experience working in the inventory department within the company. Preferred Requirements Experience within inventory controls. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rates, ratios, and percentages and draw and interpret graphs. Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics, etc. Use moderately complex oral and written communication; may train others in functional areas, interact with others, and make presentations to department or middle management. Problem solving generally follows clear directions and procedures. Decisions affect own job or assigned functional area. Results defined; sets own goals and determines how to achieve results with few or no guidelines. Handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously with moderate complexity. Physical Demands & Work Environment Occasionally required to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit for extended periods. May be exposed to hazardous situations, conditions, and equipment. Must work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles, potentially getting into awkward positions. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required. May be exposed to extreme temperatures and high noise levels. Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements). May occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and on occasion up to 100 pounds.
