Manufacturing Engineer 12-month Contract Hybrid in Mahwah, NJ Must be able to work on a W2

SUMMARY Our client, a medical device manufacturer, has engaged GForce Life Sciences to provide an Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering – Individual Contributor. This position will support capital equipment and manufacturing improvement projects from concept through production release. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, external suppliers, and project managers to ensure projects are delivered on schedule while meeting safety, quality, and operational standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support project execution by coordinating activities, tracking action items, and communicating across teams
• Assist with equipment installation, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and validation activities
• Collaborate with engineering teams and vendors to resolve technical issues during project lifecycle
• Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure compliance with quality standards
• Spend time both in the office and on the manufacturing floor to support project and process understanding
• Work independently with minimal supervision, applying technical judgment and problem-solving skills

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
• 0–2 years of engineering experience, including internships or co-op work
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Demonstrated technical aptitude and willingness to learn project management, manufacturing processes, and capital equipment implementation

NICE TO HAVE

• Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing, engineering, or project-based roles
• Experience working in a team environment through school projects, internships, or extracurricular activities
• Exposure to manufacturing processes, automation, or robotics
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement principles
• Familiarity with project management tools such as Microsoft Project or Excel
