Job Description Summary: The Resource Teacher, Site, Behavior Specialist assists in coordinating behavior management at school sites and supports school administrators and staff in developing individual, class, and school‑wide behavior interventions, including data collection and analysis. Responsibilities Coach teachers and assist with implementation and modeling of behavior strategies within the classroom. Deliver classroom management training, attend required and optional trainings related to job skills, and provide follow‑up to district‑level training. Assist with data collection and implementation of Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and Positive Behavior Intervention Plan (PBIP) processes. Develop a schoolwide discipline plan in conjunction with school administrators. Assist with individual behavior contracts and conduct social skills groups. Possess a high‑level understanding of behavior management strategies and methodologies. Create effective management systems and determine appropriate positive behavior supports. Communicate effectively with parents, peers, and administration, including verbal and nonverbal de‑scalation skills. Support the Problem‑Solving Leadership Team (PSLT) in implementing Problem‑Solving Response to Intervention (PSRtI) and schoolwide Positive Behavior Systems (PBS). Perform any other duties as assigned. Education A bachelor's degree; degree or formal training in content area preferred. Experience Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching or related experience, with proof of extensive behavior management experience (e.g., college coursework, continuing education units, in‑service records) and successful teaching based on evaluation requests and student performance. Certificates, Licenses, & Registrations Florida Professional Educator Certificate required. Preference given to Certified Associate Behavior Analysts. Skills Language: Reads, analyzes, and interprets documents; responds to inquiries or complaints; writes speeches and presents effectively to managers, the public, and school board. Mathematical: Applies probability, statistical inference, geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning: Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization; interprets diverse instructions. Computer: Microsoft Office. Physical Demands Standing, walking, sitting, handling, keyboarding, talking, and hearing. Lifting: Up to 10 pounds. Reaching: Both dominant and non‑dominant hand; overhead. Environmental: Noise intensity moderate; occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
