Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical (Telemetry)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with specialized skills in Medical/Surgical care and Telemetry to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering outstanding patient care in a fast-paced environment while fostering a collegial relationship with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
• Ensure exemplary customer service and adherence to established patient care standards.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and telemetry data, responding promptly to any changes in condition.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records.
• Adhere to infection control and hand hygiene protocols, maintaining compliance of 75% or better.
• Float to other units as required based on staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Travelers with prior experience are welcome; first-time travelers will also be considered.
• Required certifications: BCLS, NIH, IV Start, Telemetry.
• Preferred certification: ACLS.

Patient Care Environment

The unit is a 40-bed Medical/Surgical unit focusing on Bariatrics and Orthopedics, providing round-the-clock inpatient care with a targeted nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-7, depending on unit needs and census.

Shift Details

• Shift: 12-hour nights from 18:45 to 07:15.
• Weekend Requirement: 2-3 weekends per 6-week schedule.

Unit Orientation

Travelers are required to complete a 36-hour orientation program and must be available for the full duration during the first week.

Additional Notes

All candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty. Note that requests for time off after booking are not permitted, and attendance is crucial to ensure continuity of patient care.
