Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required; PALS and TNCC preferred

Must-Have: Epic/Encompass experience, Med/Surg skills

Description:
Looking for a Registered Nurse specializing in MedSurg/Tele.
The facility has 207 licensed beds and is a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center.
The emergency department contains 16 ED beds and 5 boarding beds.
Travelers will be primarily hired as Med/Tele RNs to cover ED Holds and will be cross-trained to assist in the emergency department.
Common diagnoses in the ED include Stroke, CHF, Electrolyte imbalance, Arrhythmias, Respiratory arrest, Sepsis, COPD, and Falls.
Patient ratios are 1:5 max depending on acuity, with a CNA ratio of 1:7.
Required skills for ED RNs include cardiac rhythm interpretation and critical care drip management, among others.
Skills for Med/Tele RNs include general Med/Tele competencies such as stroke experience, chest tube management, and PCA pump management.
Support within the department includes a CNA, receptionist, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV Team, RT, Clientist, and Intensivist coverage.
The technology used includes EMR, IV Pumps, and telemetry monitoring.
Travelers will be required to float as needed to other facilities within the region.
Weekend rotation will be every other weekend, with no call obligations.
Travelers are expected to work 75% of designated holidays.
Requests for time off can be approved up to 6 days, excluding holidays, and must be added to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.
Scrub color is navy.
