HUSO, the one Michelin-starred restaurant by Marky’s Caviar and two-time Top Chef winner Buddha Lo, is seeking an experienced Captain to join our Front of House team.

Our Captains lead each guest’s experience with confidence while setting the pace and standard for the service team.

Position Summary:

As a Captain at HUSO, you will oversee every aspect of the guest experience, ensuring each service is executed with grace, consistency, and exceptional attention to detail. You will lead your station, guide supporting team members, and serve as the primary point of contact for guests throughout their dining experience.

This role requires outstanding leadership, technical service expertise, strong wine and food knowledge, and the ability to anticipate guest needs before they arise. Successful candidates take pride in coaching others, maintaining impeccable standards, and creating memorable experiences for every guest.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of service within your assigned section, ensuring seamless execution from greeting through farewell.
• Deliver Michelin-level hospitality with confidence, warmth, professionalism, and genuine attention to detail.
• Guide and direct Front Servers and Kitchen Servers to maintain flawless service flow.
• Maintain expert knowledge of all menus, ingredients, preparation techniques, allergies, and beverage offerings.
• Present dishes and beverages with accuracy, confidence, and engaging storytelling.
• Coordinate closely with the kitchen, sommeliers, and management to ensure proper pacing and communication throughout service.
• Anticipate guest preferences, resolve concerns proactively, and create personalized dining experiences.
• Monitor table maintenance, dining room presentation, and overall guest satisfaction throughout service.
• Assist with training, mentoring, and developing newer team members while reinforcing Michelin-level service standards.
• Maintain composure and leadership during high-volume services while consistently delivering exceptional hospitality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Captain experience in a fine dining restaurant; Michelin-starred or luxury hospitality experience strongly preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of fine dining service standards and etiquette.
• Strong understanding of wine, spirits, and food pairing principles.
• Proven ability to lead a service team while maintaining exceptional guest engagement.
• Outstanding communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm, poised, and detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for hospitality, continuous learning, and professional development.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout service.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable navigating stairs and moving efficiently throughout the restaurant during service.

Additional Information:

We are closed on most major holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
