Sr Engineer AML 6 - Utilities

Amgen Inc

Senior engineering role focused on designing, optimizing, and managing utilities systems including chilled water and HVAC infrastructure at a biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Puerto Rico. Lead complex projects, supervise contractors, and ensure reliable delivery of systems supporting therapeutic production.

Responsibilities

Lead design, optimization, and reliability of utilities and HVAC systems powering therapeutic manufacturing
Develop engineering policies and procedures affecting multiple organizational units
Supervise and coordinate contractor and supplier work on ongoing and project-based assignments
Collaborate with global engineering, manufacturing, quality, and validation teams on complex system modifications
Develop technical solutions to complex problems using creative problem-solving and continuous improvement

Requirements

Doctorate in Engineering, OR Master's in Engineering with 2+ years experience, OR Bachelor's in Engineering with 4+ years experience
Deep expertise in clean utilities gases and HVAC systems
Experience with FDA water regulations and GMP-level regulatory audits
Knowledge of capital project lifecycle from requirements through validation
Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (MAXIMO, MMP)
Strong problem-solving and technical report writing skills
Ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently
