Job Opportunity

Position Overview

This is a high-risk Labor and Delivery (L&D) unit with an average delivery volume of 2,100 deliveries per year. The unit accepts transfer-ins and operates an MFM outpatient consultation, but all patients are managed by the obstetrician. This is a private entity practice without hospital-owned providers or laborists. Midwife coverage is only available through family practice. The facility is equipped with a Level 3 NICU and is not set up as an LDRP unit. Staff members will be required to circulate for cesarean sections.

Shift Details

• Schedule: 3x12 Hour Night Shift (19:00 - 07:30)
• Total Hours: 36 hours/week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: Yes, to Maternity/Mother-Baby
• Call Requirement: None

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience preferred; 1-2 years may be considered
• Previous charge experience required
• Circulation experience required
• Traveler experience: Unit does not accept first-time travelers
• Certification Requirements:

Essential Skills

• Amnioinfusion
• Assist with high-risk deliveries
• Cervical cerclage
• C-sections (including circulation)
• General anesthesia
• Labor & Delivery support
• Newborn assessment and care
• Postpartum care including discharge teaching to parents
• Use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring)
• Vaginal Delivery assistance
• IV therapy and medication administration

Unit Details

• Daily Census: Approximately 8 patients
• Number of Rooms: 10
• Interdisciplinary Support from various teams (IV Teams, PT, Respiratory, Social Services, etc.)
• Patient Population: Neonates, Adolescents, Adults

Floating Expectations

Staff may be required to float to other units, including ICU and ED as part of a team nursing approach.
