About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief of Anesthesiology to join their mission-driven community hospital. The successful candidate will be a transformational leader, providing strategic and operational direction for the Department of Anesthesiology, including the Preoperative Department, Operating Rooms, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. Key responsibilities for the Chief of Anesthesiology include clear and confident communication across clinical and administrative teams, driving and managing change initiatives, fostering a culture of collaboration, and demonstrating a strong sense of ownership and accountability for service line performance. The role also involves leading by example, maintaining a 50% clinical / 50% administrative workload, and recruiting, mentoring, and retaining a high-performing team of anesthesiology professionals. Applicants for the Chief of Anesthesiology position at the company must be board-certified in Anesthesiology, with a proven track record in clinical leadership and a passion for service in a diverse, high-acuity urban environment. The ideal candidate will be a decisive, collaborative, and visionary physician-leader with the ability to execute change, drive performance, and elevate clinical standards. Strong interpersonal, strategic, and operational management skills are essential, as is the ability to work closely with surgical, perioperative, and hospital leadership to improve quality, safety, and patient outcomes. This role is suited to a confident, change-oriented physician leader who is eager to drive transformation and enhance surgical services in a vibrant, high-impact community hospital setting.
