Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Opportunity

WiredPeople is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Hours of operation for the facility are 24 hours, 7 days a week from 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am, with weekend and holiday shifts primarily needed. The ideal candidate will be able to work a minimum of a 36 hours per week schedule. This position is full-time and onsite in Higginsville, MO.

Essential Functions

• Provide direct nursing care to residents in accordance with individualized care and habilitation plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and monitor for adverse reactions or changes in condition.
• Perform and document clinical assessments, including vital signs, wound care, and monitoring of chronic conditions.
• Supervise and support Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to ensure quality and continuity of care.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and changes in resident status, including initiating appropriate interventions and notifying medical staff.
• Participate in the development, implementation, and review of individual support plans (ISPs).
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic and paper health records, complying with all regulatory requirements.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, interdisciplinary team members, and external providers.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards, and facility policies.
• Promote a respectful, therapeutic, and person-centered environment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Missouri LPN license (required)
• Minimum 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED (required); completion of accredited practical nursing program
• CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred
• Ability to perform medication administration, wound care, and routine clinical procedures in compliance with state regulations
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to respond effectively in emergency or behavioral situations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to supervise and collaborate with CNAs and other support staff
• Must pass background check, drug screening, and other state-required screenings
