Associate Attorney – Public Entity Defense (Permanent) Our prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney specializing in Public Entity Defense. This full‑time permanent position offers a competitive salary of $150,000 – $225,000 per year, along with benefits and opportunities for professional growth. Responsibilities Represent public entities such as cities, counties, and special districts in litigation and advisory matters. Defend public entities in a variety of civil litigation matters including police litigation, land use, environmental law, constitutional law, and other municipal issues. Provide legal advice to public entities on a wide array of issues relating to their operations and governance. Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings. Conduct legal research and analysis to develop effective strategies for clients. Participate in trials, hearings, depositions, and other court proceedings. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting public entities. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the state bar and in good standing. Minimum of 5 years of legal experience with a strong focus on public entity law, municipal law, litigation, and police litigation. Demonstrated experience in representing public entities in litigation and advisory matters. Strong knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting public entities. Excellent legal research, analysis, and writing skills. Strong negotiation and courtroom advocacy skills. Ability to manage multiple cases and projects, with keen attention to detail and deadlines. High ethical standards and professional integrity. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work effectively with a diverse range of clients and team members.
