About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Medical Director to lead the clinical strategy, planning, and execution of ophthalmology programs. This pivotal role involves driving the development of late-stage and filing-ready assets, with a strong focus on partnering with regulatory teams to advance programs toward submission. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key opinion leaders, investigators, contract research organizations, and other external collaborators. Operational excellence, cost control, compliance, and timely delivery of all clinical activities are also key aspects of the position. The ideal candidate for the Executive Medical Director position at the company will have a medical degree and a proven track record in clinical research and development, particularly in the ophthalmology or related fields. Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence at an enterprise level are essential. The role requires a strategic thinker who can ensure that the clinical programs are in line with the company's mission to provide care for underserved patient populations. A deep understanding of the pharmaceutical value chain, from R&D to marketing, is necessary, as is the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.
