Head of Ophthalmology – Pediatric Facility
Farmington
A leading pediatric healthcare organization in Connecticut is seeking a Board-Certified Pediatric Ophthalmologist to serve as Head of Ophthalmology. This is a unique leadership opportunity for an experienced physician who is passionate about clinical excellence, academic growth, and strategic program development within a collaborative pediatric environment.
Position Overview
The Head of Ophthalmology will provide clinical, administrative, and educational leadership for a growing pediatric ophthalmology department. The role includes oversight of day-to-day operations, development of strategic initiatives, and mentorship of a multidisciplinary team including physicians, fellows, residents, medical students, and advanced practice providers.

\tLead and mentor physicians, fellows, residents, medical students, and APPs

\tSupport educational programming, teaching, and professional development

\tDrive quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and program growth

\tCollaborate with executive leadership on departmental planning and expansion

Qualifications

\tBoard Certified Pediatric Ophthalmologist (required)

\tMinimum 5 years of leadership experience in a clinical or academic setting

\tDemonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams

\tCommitment to pediatric patient care, education, and innovation
