About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Two years of Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last three years. License: WI RN or Compact RN license required. Certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS - AHA only required. TNCC required. Must-Have: Epic experience required. Traveler will be required to pass a Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start. Description: Nights, 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30, including weekends and holidays. The Emergency Department provides comprehensive emergency care to a significant number of patients annually. It serves as a critical entry point, working to rapidly stabilize patients for admission or transfer. The department is designated as a Level IV Trauma Center and an Acute Stroke Ready Center. It has been recognized as a Pediatric Ready Emergency Department. Timely, evidence-based care is ensured for patients across the lifespan and for a wide range of clinical presentations. The department includes multiple exam rooms and vertical care spaces, with the ability to flex additional rooms to meet surges in demand. The team coordinates closely with ground ambulance services and Med Flight for seamless care for critically ill and injured patients. ED nursing and tech staff also serve as the hospital's rapid response team, delivering emergent assessment and intervention throughout the facility. Patients require care across diverse diagnoses, including but not limited to abdominal pain, trauma, respiratory infections, and mental health issues. Travelers are required to float as needed. Minimum experience required is two years of acute care experience in the specialty. Pass/fail testing with strict passing criteria is required. A telemetry exam will be conducted prior to start, with specific criteria for passing. Travelers will have two attempts to pass the exam, with further requirements for those who do not succeed.
