Core values include: Integrity - Service - Excellence - Stability - Strength - Respect - Teamwork Business Analyst Role Overview The Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for analyzing business needs and ensuring they are clearly understood and effectively translated into criteria that support technology delivery. The role works closely with business stakeholders, Product Owners, and delivery teams to define scope, clarify intent, and support solutions that align with business processes and objectives. The BA focuses on understanding how work is performed today, how systems support that work, and what changes are required to improve efficiency, accuracy, and outcomes. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly across technical and non-technical audiences. Business Analyst Responsibilities Demonstrate the company’s mission and core values of integrity, service, excellence, stability, strength, respect, and teamwork. Maintain regular and timely attendance in the office. Business & Stakeholder Partnership Act as a trusted liaison between Product Owners, business stakeholders, subject‑matter experts, and delivery teams. Develop a deep understanding of end‑to‑end business processes, customer journeys, and operational workflows. Facilitate productive conversations that surface real needs, constraints, risks, and tradeoffs. Proactively identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement within business processes and systems. Business Analyst Requirements & Analysis Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements using techniques such as workshops, interviews, process mapping, and observation. Translate business needs into clear user stories with acceptance criteria for development and testing. Document business rules, configuration needs, data mappings, UI behaviors, and configuration/reference data as needed. Maintain and evolve artifacts such as process flows, use cases, data flows, and product models. Assess the business impact of proposed changes and help stakeholders understand implications and dependencies. Partner with Product Owner(s) to break down features into value‑focused deliverables (MVPs) and define incremental delivery. Delivery Support Partner closely with developers, testers, and configuration teams to ensure solutions align with intended business outcomes. Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and ongoing delivery activities by clarifying intent and answering questions. Validate implemented solutions against requirements and support user acceptance activities. Manage and prioritize assigned work to meet delivery commitments and deadlines. Continuous Improvement Identify patterns, root causes, systemic issues, and improvement opportunities across stories. Help improve how requirements are gathered, documented, and communicated across teams. Contribute to consistent analysis practices, templates, and standards across IT. Required Skills and Qualifications Strong analytical thinking with the ability to break down complex problems into clear, actionable components. Proven experience eliciting and documenting business and functional requirements in a technology environment. Ability to facilitate discussions and workshops with diverse stakeholders, including non‑technical audiences. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively within cross‑functional teams while managing work independently. Comfort working in an Agile or hybrid delivery environment. Preferred Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, or a related field. Experience in the insurance industry. Experience working with Guidewire products or similar enterprise platforms. Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar. Experience documenting data flows, integrations, and configuration‑heavy systems. Guidewire or relevant vendor certifications, or willingness to obtain.
