Immediate opening for a Production Technician in Huntington Beach, CA who possesses:

• 2+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably within a regulated environment such as GMP, ISO, or AS9100
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn production equipment and processes
• Experience working with chemicals, biotech equipment, process equipment, or related manufacturing systems a plus
• Forklift, scissor lift, bucket lift, or OSHA HAZWOPER certification a plus
• Ability to work a rotating 12-hour night schedule from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM

FULL DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a hands-on Production Technician to support manufacturing operations involving batch preparation, fermentation processing, production equipment, in-process testing, material handling, documentation, and equipment cleaning. This role works as part of a collaborative production team to prepare materials according to established recipes, monitor system performance, process production material, maintain quality standards, and ensure equipment and production areas remain clean and safe. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience, strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to learn technical processes in a fast-paced production environment.

 

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Following batch records and established set points to prepare, measure, mix, and load production media into reactors, tanks, and related equipment
• Setting up and operating production equipment according to established procedures
• Monitoring fermentation and related production processes
• Using HMI systems to monitor equipment performance and adjust operating parameters
• Processing production material through multiple stages to meet established quality requirements
• Operating mixers, pumps, centrifuges, conveyors, dryers, and other liquid or solid material-handling equipment
• Replacing consumable equipment components such as filters as needed
• Calibrating probes, scales, and related process equipment
• Performing in-process testing of production material in a laboratory setting
• Monitoring product quality and identifying conditions outside established specifications
• Accurately completing batch records, logs, and electronic production documentation
• Entering production data into computer systems accurately and on time
• Following established Clean-in-Place procedures for production equipment and devices
• Handling production chemicals according to established procedures
• Participating in chemical spill or leak response activities as required
• Using appropriate chemical-rated PPE when handling chemicals or responding to incidents
• Troubleshooting routine production and equipment issues
• Escalating equipment or process problems to supervisors, engineers, or maintenance teams as needed
• Coordinating with operators, supervisors, engineers, and maintenance personnel to support efficient production operations
• Performing inspections and safety checks on equipment and work areas
• Supporting 6S workplace organization and safety standards
• Safely operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and bucket lifts as trained and authorized
• Maintaining clean and organized production equipment and work areas
• Working independently and as part of a production team
• Following all applicable manufacturing, safety, quality, and company procedures
• Performing other duties as assigned

 

The selected candidate will also possess:

• 2+ years of manufacturing experience required
• Experience in a GMP, ISO, AS9100, biotech, chemical, food, pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturing environment preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude required
• Ability to learn and safely operate production machinery and process systems required
• Experience with batch manufacturing or process manufacturing preferred
• Experience working with chemicals or chemical processing equipment preferred
• Experience with biotech, fermentation, or related production processes a plus
• Experience using HMI or similar process-control systems preferred
• Experience with pumps, mixers, tanks, centrifuges, conveyors, dryers, or related production equipment preferred
• Experience completing production documentation, batch records, or manufacturing logs preferred
• Ability to read, speak, and write in English required
• Strong attention to detail required
• Ability to follow written procedures and established production recipes required
• Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and escalate issues appropriately
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to work independently when required
• Forklift certification preferred
• Scissor lift or bucket lift certification preferred
• Current OSHA HAZWOPER training or certification preferred
• Ability to participate in required HAZWOPER training after hire
• Ability to provide professional references as part of the hiring process
• Ability to work onsite in Huntington Beach, CA
• Ability to work a rotating 12-hour schedule from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and regular overtime as required

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods of up to 8 to 12 hours during a production shift
• Ability to sit, walk, climb, bend, kneel, reach, and move throughout manufacturing and production areas
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to safely operate production equipment and material-handling equipment
• Ability to work around moving mechanical equipment, chemicals, production machinery, and electrical equipment
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with elevated noise levels
• Ability to wear required hearing protection and other PPE
• Ability to use chemical-rated PPE when handling chemicals or participating in spill response activities
• Ability to use hands and fingers for equipment operation, documentation, sample handling, and production tasks
• Ability to visually inspect equipment, production materials, test results, gauges, HMI screens, and process conditions
• Ability to perform repetitive production and material-handling tasks throughout the shift
• Ability to participate in the site's Chemical Response Team and complete required HAZWOPER refresher training
• Ability to maintain focus, accuracy, and safe work practices throughout a 12-hour production shift

 

Salary Range: $23 to $23.50/hour plus regular overtime
