Position Highlights

The Laboratory of Manish Jain in the Department of Translational Neurosciences is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to research projects focused on neuroscience, G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), pharmacology and drug discovery. We are looking for a passionate and dynamic researcher with strong expertise in pharmacology, cell signaling and structure biology to advance our research in the above areas.

Ideal candidates should have a PhD in Pharmacology, Neuroscience, Structural Biology, or a related field, along with a strong interest in neuroscience research. For Structural biology, experience in protein purification and Cryo-EM is expected. This position provides the opportunity to produce high-impact publications and an excellent foundation for independent career in both neuroscience and drug discovery. Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced, multi-disciplinary research in neuroscience, biochemistry, and structural biology under the direction of the principal investigator.
• Develop, design, perform, and analyze experiments.
• Formulate research methods, develop research criteria.
• Perform scientific data collections, reductions, and analyses involving routine procedures characterized by use of independent judgment.
• Maintain and create various cell lines, cell-based functional assays in a high-throughput manner, mouse experiments and routine lab works including cloning, transfection, electrophoresis.
• Structure analysis for structural biology protein purification.
• Participate in data interpretation such as data quality control, variant interpretation and classification.
• Detailed documentation of data.
• Assist with funding applications by generating preliminary data.
• Derive, analyze, and format data for publications, presentations, and grant proposals.
• Present research findings to the lab at department meetings, and at national and international symposiums.
• Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
• Foster collaborations within the Department and with other units across the University applications, and preparing progress reports.

• Knowledge of coordinating experiments, and completing statistics analysis and interpretation.

• Ability to participate at scientific conferences and present findings.

Minimum Qualifications

• PhD in Pharmacology, Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Structure biology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in GPCRs pharmacology.
• Experience in protein structural biology.
• Excellent trouble shooting skills.
• Track record of publishing papers in peer reviewed journals.
