Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Acute Care for the Elderly)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13–26 weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (3x12 Hours, 7:00–19:30) | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide telemetry-capable medical-surgical nursing care to hospitalized patients aged 65 and older on a 26-bed ACE unit
• Perform IV starts, blood product administration, and management of central, peripheral, and PICC lines
• Monitor, interpret, and manage cardiac dysrhythmias via remote telemetry monitoring
• Implement and manage heparin protocols in accordance with facility standards
• Deliver geriatric-focused care with emphasis on preserving cognitive and physical function and supporting return to pre-admission baseline
• Float to other qualified units or campuses as needed based on census and documented competencies

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina RN license or active multistate compact RN license (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation, heparin protocols, and telemetry-capable care
• Ability to complete required pre-assignment testing and compliance modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience working in an Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) or geriatric-focused inpatient unit
• Experience as a Geriatric Resource Nurse or within a multidisciplinary geriatric care team
• Previous travel nursing experience
