Sr. Medical Assistant - Medical Center

Location: Medical Center area of Houston, TX

Pay Rate: Starting at $18.00/hour

Schedule: Monday-Thursday 7:45 AM-5:00 PM; Friday 7:45 AM-1:00 PM

Dean's Professional Services is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and experienced Sr. Medical Assistant to support a leading healthcare organization in the Medical Center area of Houston, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for a certified Medical Assistant who is comfortable working in a fast-paced Internal Medicine Group and providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Support the assigned physician with daily clinical and administrative responsibilities.

   

• Assist with patient rooming, vital signs, injections, medication management, and laboratory orders.

   

• Manage provider in-baskets and electronic medical record tasks as needed.

   

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record.

   

• Assist with coordinating patient care and communicating clinical information to the healthcare team.

   

• Prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and excellent patient care.

   

• Follow established clinical, safety, and infection-control procedures.

   

• Maintain a professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach at all times.

   

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

   

• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Assistant experience required.

   

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required.

   

• American Heart Association (AHA) certification required.

   

• Experience with patient rooming, vital signs, injections, medication management, and laboratory orders.

   

• Experience managing provider in-baskets and electronic medical record tasks preferred.

   

• Strong knowledge of electronic medical records and clinical documentation.

   

• Excellent clinical, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

   

• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

   

• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining accuracy and quality patient care.

   

• Professional, dependable, compassionate, and patient-focused approach.

   

• Must successfully complete required drug and nicotine screening.

   

• This is a non-smoking facility .
