About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Operating Room Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10-hour varied shifts + call Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: Strong CVOR experience with the ability to scrub preferred. Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips. Description: The position requires working in a very busy and fast-paced operating room. Nurses will be expected to cover three weekend shifts per month. The hospital conducts a profile review and unit interviews for candidates. Each candidate must provide two supervisory references upon submission. Candidate references must include one within the last 12 months and another within three years of employment. Staff may be required to take overnight and weekend on-call shifts. Surgeries performed include CABG, valve replacements, and other heart surgeries, excluding thoracic procedures. A charge nurse oversees overall operations within the room. The candidate must be confident in their skills due to the demanding environment. Charting will be done using Cerner. The hospital can cancel up to four shifts during assignments lasting 13 weeks. Cancellation policies may vary for assignments that are less than 13 weeks.
