What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality post-anesthesia and recovery care for both pediatric and adult patients
• Support patients in all stages: pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery
• Float to pediatric PACU as needed, ensuring seamless patient care across units
• Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts, bladder scanners, and Accuvein
• Collaborate with surgical teams across multiple ORs and service lines, including regional anesthesia, interventional radiology, and pulmonary labs
• Maintain patient safety and comfort with a patient ratio of 1:2
• Comply with all hospital policies and emergency response procedures

What You Need

• Valid licensure as a Registered Nurse in Louisiana or ability to obtain
• At least 1 year of recent PACU or surgical recovery experience; critical care post-op experience preferred
• Current ACLS, BCLS, PALS certifications
• Strong clinical skills in postoperative care and patient monitoring
• Ability to work flexible hours, float to pediatric PACU as needed, and adapt to high-volume surgical environment

About the Assignment
You will be supporting a busy hospital environment in the Pediatric and Adult PACU units, caring for patients undergoing a broad range of surgeries and procedures in a fast-paced setting. The unit manages all major surgical services with high pediatric volume, requiring a flexible, experienced RN ready to deliver compassionate, efficient care in both pre-op and recovery phases.
