Licensed Practical Nurse Job Type: Full Time | Location: New Hartford, NY | Level: Professional Job Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide basic medical care under the supervision of registered nurses and doctors. The LPN will be responsible for monitoring patients' health, administering basic patient care, and providing support to patients and their families. Education and Experience Completion of a state-approved practical nursing program Current LPN license in the state of New York Experience in a healthcare setting preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Basic computer skills for documentation purposes Knowledge Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures Understanding of patient care and safety standards Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare regulations Knowledge of infection control practices Skills Basic Skills Active Listening : Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Critical Thinking : Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Technical Skills Operation Monitoring : Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly. Quality Control Analysis : Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance. Primary Job Duties Monitor patients' health by checking vital signs and recording information Administer basic patient care, including changing bandages and inserting catheters Provide patients with medication and monitor their reactions Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing and dressing Communicate with patients and their families about their care and treatment plans Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure patient needs are met Maintain accurate patient records and documentation Note This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) incumbent in this position.
