Principal/MTS Chemistry Development Engineer, 3D DRAM Wet Etch As a Principal/MTS Process Development Engineer focused on new chemistry development, you will be part of the 3D DRAM Technology Development team. You will work closely with Process Integration and other process areas including Dry Etch, Metals, CVD, Diffusion, Lithography and CMP. You will develop state‑of‑the‑art wet‑etch tooling and own the process roadmap to meet program and yield goals. Responsibilities Technically innovate: Drive strategic technical and tactical decisions at a project and platform level by contributing to feasibility studies and proactively engaging technical challenges before they become problems. Lead development and incorporation of new liquid‑based chemicals for selective wet etching, surface preparation and high aspect processing. Technically Focus: Develop vision and technical skills to relate technologies and group business plans; build Micron intellectual property; stay current with external technical advancements. Impact Results: Lead Micron IP into successful technical readiness and transition to program integration. Influence: Interact with senior management to provide consultation and influence technical and strategic decisions; craft alliances with customers. Skill and experience: Drive product planning, roadmap, platform features and functional area strategy with focus on scientific fundamentals. Minimum Qualifications 10+ years of experience in Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or an equivalent field. PhD research plus ≥5 years of professional work, or Master’s degree plus ≥7 years of related professional work. Prior semiconductor industry experience developing specialty chemicals from lab to fab and resolving highly complex problems using root‑cause or model‑based analysis. Ability to work independently with minimal direction, prioritize commitments and manage projects while communicating complex information. Experience leading at least one to two cross‑group projects and serving as a prime consultant on specialized programs. Expert knowledge of thermodynamics/kinetic factors, transport phenomena, fluid dynamics and fundamental characterization of chemical reactions. Preferred Qualifications Incorporation of AI into daily work, with emphasis on coding, automation or data science.
