The Division CFO will oversee the financial operations of the division, providing financial leadership and operational oversight for all financial functions within Physician Practice Management (Physician Services), ensuring the achievement of budgets and metrics through a culture of accountability. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills to drive financial performance, support the division’s growth objectives, enhance financial stewardship, oversee revenue cycle operations, drive collaboration with managed care strategies and other business services, and partner closely with leadership across the organization.

How you’ll contribute

• Provide strategic financial leadership and direction to the division, ensuring alignment with overall corporate goals.
• Provide oversight and leadership on financial controls, month‑end financial close, and budget preparation process. This includes preparing and delivering high‑detail reports to division and company leaders with the ability to provide financial recommendations and explanations.
• Develop, drive, and execute strategic operational and financial initiatives for the division.
• Provide financial analysis to the President of Physician Services, other medical group services operational leaders, Acute Division CEO/CFO and Facility Leadership in support of operational considerations.
• Oversee front and back‑end revenue cycle operations, including oversight of internal CBO operations and revenue‑cycle IT/operational vendor partners.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial planning.
• Oversee revenue‑cycle functions to maximize efficiency and cash flow across Physician Services, developing and monitoring key performance indicators for revenue‑cycle effectiveness.
• Develop and implement financial metrics to monitor performance and drive accountability across the division, creating an environment of accountability in achieving budgeted metrics and/or targets.
• Work closely with managed‑care teams to analyze payer strategies, ensuring alignment between managed‑care initiatives and financial goals to enhance reimbursement rates and payer mix.
• Collaborate with Health Support Center managed‑care services to make operational decisions related to physician payor contracting.
• Coordinate with Lifepoint Business Services’ functions to streamline financial operations.
• Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Identify and manage financial risks, implementing strategies to mitigate potential impacts, and ensure accurate financial reporting, including audit and SOX compliance.
• Foster a high‑performing finance team, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, and identify opportunities for financial operations improvement and increased compliance with established financial controls.
• Communicate financial performance and strategic initiatives to key stakeholders, including the executive team and board of directors, and have an active role in shared governance in the payor enrollment process.
• Drive cost‑management initiatives, identify opportunities for operational efficiencies to enhance profitability, and assume a lead role in analyzing and exploring means of reducing operating costs and increasing revenues based on market trends, financial reports, and operating procedures.

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive financial leadership experience in healthcare.
• Experience as CFO in healthcare required; experience as CFO in Physician Practice Management highly preferred.
• Proven track record of managing budgets and achieving financial metrics.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead and develop a high‑performing team.
• High level experience with financial software and systems.

Certifications

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certification Preferred.

Licenses

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License Preferred.
