POSITION SUMMARY :
The Facilities Support Assistant will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and basic inside and outside maintenance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs general maintenance duties: may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
- Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
- Assist in scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors
- Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff
- Performing basic plumbing tasks, which includes unclogging drains as well as fixing leaking faucets and toilets.
- Performs basic maintenance to outside area of the building
- Assist with moving or set up of office furniture, equipment
- Assist with fire and building inspectors.
- Completing work order for SCC and RCM
- Complies with all approved procedures, directives and guidelines.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Education Required:
High School or GED Diploma
Experience Required:
A minimum of 1-year experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry. Mechanical systems (including relevant equipment and tools) is a plus.
Skills Required:
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and lift or move heavy equipment
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other manuals and documents
- Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from supervisors
- May be required to work outside of normal work hours
- The ability to handle multi-tasks.
- The ability to define priorities and respond accordingly.

Some moderate lifting (up to fifty pounds) may be required.
