CNC Machinist 2nd Shift

The Machinist operates computer numerical control machines and conventional machines to fabricate parts. Responsibilities include loading parts into the machine, running production batches, detecting malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools, and communicating with co‑workers regarding production runs. The role is essential to supporting Sonaca North America’s quality policy, mission statement, and commitment to total customer satisfaction, quality products, lean processes, continuous improvement, on‑time delivery, safety, teamwork, personal accountability and respect for people. Pay & Shift Pay Range: $22.00 – $26.00 per hour (2nd Shift Differential: $1.00 per hour). Essential Job Responsibilities Run production on a CNC machining center. Check and monitor the parts being run. Read the basic dimensions and tolerances of a blueprint. Ensure quality standards are being met. Produce the proper amount of parts per machine cycle time. Deburr and blend all machined parts. Perform daily maintenance on machines, including retaining fluid levels, emptying chips, and wiping down the machine to remove coolant, dust, and debris. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Complete and maintain paperwork properly as required. Maintain attendance and punctuality. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalency preferred. Candidates lacking a diploma or equivalency must complete a pre‑employment assessment. Trade school training for machining practices preferred. Strong math skills for basic calculations. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Attention to detail. Proficiency with measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers). Capacity to concentrate, focus, and maintain strict attention to detail. Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Work in noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud. Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including eye, ear, and foot protection. May occasionally lift or move up to 10–50 pounds.
