Job Opportunity – NICU Registered Nurse (Level III/IV) – Virginia

Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week, 13 or 26-week assignment. Required to work 3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period and 2 out of 3 winter holidays. Patient ratio 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity level. 36-hour orientation provided.

Highlights:

• 54-bed Level III/IV NICU caring for neonates 22 weeks gestation and above with complex diagnoses including extreme prematurity, cardiac anomalies, and surgical cases
• Advanced technologies including ECMO, high-frequency ventilation, iNO therapy, therapeutic hypothermia, and comprehensive hemodynamic support
• Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support team including PT, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
• Float opportunities to PICU, Pediatrics, Postpartum, and L&D to support care of infants under 1 year old
• Competitive time-off policy allowing up to 40 hours during 13-week assignment (not available around Christmas or first two weeks of assignment)

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of full-time Level III NICU experience required; Level IV highly preferred
• Strong hands-on experience with high-frequency ventilators, conventional ventilators, iNO, trachs, CPAP/BiPAP, hemodynamic support, and post-operative care
• Proficiency in IV placements, lab draws, wound/drain/line care, ostomy care, ABG interpretation, and medication calculations
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:3 and Epic charting system required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required at submission
• Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (can be pending at submission; $200 cost)
• Virginia RN license (can be pending at submission but must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions; COVID-19 vaccine not required
• BSN preferred
• Nursys verification and professional references required
