Job Opportunity – Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse – Virginia

Start Date: October 26, 2026

Location: Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 13-week contract; 36 or 48 hours per week; Night shift; 3 weekends per 6-week schedule; 2 of 3 winter holidays required

Highlights:

• Combined pediatric cardiac and medical critical care unit with high census and acuity
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 based on acuity; care for neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
• Epic EMR system; 24 hours of orientation provided
• May float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs
• Access to comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, IV teams, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Up to 40 hours of approved time off available during contract (not available during first 2 weeks)

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with 2:1 patient ratio experience
• Current Virginia RN license (pending license accepted if in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Pediatric cardiac experience preferred; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• BSN preferred
• Strong clinical skills including ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, arterial line management, central line care, pediatric dosage calculations, and management of complex cardiac conditions
