About the Position

Job Opportunity – Pediatric Float Pool RN – Virginia

Start Date: October 26, 2026

Location: Virginia

Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week, 13-week assignment. Every other weekend and every other holiday required. Block scheduling cannot be accommodated.

Highlights:

• Float pool position rotating across multiple pediatric units including PICU, NICU, Pediatric Medical-Surgical, Pediatric PACU, Pediatric ED, and Mother Baby/Postpartum
• Work with a comprehensive interdisciplinary team including respiratory therapy, child life specialists, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Epic EMR system used across all units
• 54-bed NICU with advanced therapies including ECMO and hypothermia treatment; 22-bed PICU; 40-bed Acute Pediatrics unit
• Up to 40 hours of approved time off available (no time off during first 2 weeks of assignment)
• State-of-the-art pediatric emergency department dedicated to ages 0-21 years

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• NICU and PICU experience both required; must be comfortable floating to all pediatric units
• Active RN license in Virginia (pending license accepted, must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS required
• Dr. Browns Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (may submit with pending; $185 cost applies)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Pediatric PACU experience highly preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• BSN preferred
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
